No photo finish here!

My master plan was to do this 1/2 marathon as a "Coming Out" - the big reveal so to speak but ever damn picture taken of me was after I pulled a damn muscle and had to walk - hobble - it out!

Okay, I know the deal as in the past I've taken my share of sports images ... mainly motocross actually, but this was different.

This was 'spose to be all about me!

Part of the Process!

This run was part of a process that begun some 4 years ago and this process began with me (Matt) being so friggn fat I couldn't even tie on a pair of running shoes let alone run! Hell, walking made me drip sweat, getting up off my arse was a mission and eating everything I could was my only goal!

One thing for sure, running was not a part of my life and even contemplating a jog was beyond my wildest dream.

My eldest lad John [aka LoztCauze], decided on the Wednesday night - 2 days before before needing to be there, that he might like a go at the Triple Peaks Challenge.


There are about 3 things that shocked me:

• His bike was in at Kevin Laskey's [Pahiatua] getting fixed!
• His training consists of about ZERO!!
• We live at Eke, had no idea how to enter and just found out we need to be at briefing by 6.30 in two days!
  

What the hell ... we have nothing else on and it sure bet his other plan of a Thrash Metal concert in Wellington!
